Florida Children and Youth Cabinet: Prevention Investment Strategy Workgroup

Co-Chaired by Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Secretary Christina K. Daly and Director Barbara Palmer with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, the Prevention Investment Strategy Workgroup is focused on identifying where state funds are currently being allocated and how funds could be used to refine, improve or strengthen future investments that result in better outcomes for children and youth.  This workgroup is designed to look at how each agency addresses and prioritizes the idea of prevention as it relates to their respective agency mission. In addition, an assessment of how funds “follow the child” will occur to determine if they are being used in the most effective manner.

In addition to the co-chairs and their organizations, the workgroup has representation from the Office of Policy and Budget within the Executive Office of the Governor, Chief Financial Officers from each Health and Human Service Agency and Department of Education.
